Description Irish Beeswax Candle Celtic Knot Design Description: This Irish Beeswax Candle Celtic Knot design is handmade by us in Dublin. The Celtic Knot is considered to represent the three forces of nature: water, fire and earth. Produced with ethically harvested 100% pure Irish beeswax from our own beehives and those of local beekeepers. Beeswax candles are the most natural candles you can burn in your home. Completely natural, non-toxic, carbon-neutral and chemical-free. Beeswax candles burn very cleanly with a bright flame and subtle natural scent. Burn time of beeswax candles is up to twice as long as any other kind of candle. Dimensions: 46mm high and 50mm in diameter approximately. Due to the handmade nature of this Irish beeswax candle please allow for small variations in size. Please note that the candle holder is for the photo only and is not included in the sale. Packaging: Your Irish Beeswax Candle will arrive packaged in beautiful recyclable Kraft packaging ready for you to gift. More information on how we get our beeswax: When we remove the surplus honey frames from our beehives at the end of the summer, the honeycomb has already been capped by the honeybees with a beautiful covering of beeswax to keep it clean and safe. In order to extract the liquid honey from the frames we first remove the beeswax with a special knife and put the beeswax aside to melt down and clean at a later stage. This beeswax needs to be melted and filtered a number of times to ensure that it is sufficiently clean to use for making beeswax wraps, candles or balm. Time consuming but so rewarding to see the beautiful block of clean, fragrant beeswax at the end!               Burning instructions for your Irish beeswax candle: When you light your beeswax candle for the first time it is recommended that you allow your wax melt and form a pool close to the edge of the candle before extinguishing. This will form a wax wall and prevent tunnelling in subsequent burns. As your candle burns lower bend the wax wall inwards (also called “hugging”) helping to contain the wax pool. Keep the cotton wick trimmed to around 5mm before each lighting.   Our beeswax candles are also available as part of a gift set in beautiful Kraft ribbed packaging along with our pure Irish honey and beeswax products.
