Some more information about our handmade pure Irish Beeswax Valentines Hearts Candles: When we remove the surplus honey frames from our beehives at the end of the summer, the honeycomb has already been capped by the honeybees with a beautiful covering of beeswax to keep it clean and safe. In order to extract the liquid honey from the frames we first remove the beeswax with a special knife and put the beeswax aside to melt down and clean at a later stage. This beeswax needs to be melted and filtered a number of times to ensure that it is sufficiently clean to use for making beeswax wraps, candles or balm. Time consuming but so rewarding to see the beautiful block of clean, fragrant beeswax at the end!
